Frühlingsfest 2023

The German word, “Frühlingsfest”, means “Spring festival”. An annual family-friendly celebration of the spring season, Frühlingsfest takes place in towns and cities all over Germany.

You will be able to find events in the towns and villages near Sennelager.
Below are some of the largest city fairs this spring.

Dippemess
Frankfurt's  spring festival "Dippemess" is one of the largest folk festivals in the Rhine region. You can find the main fair on the Festplatz Am Ratsweg 
This year the fair opens between 31st Mar -24th Apr.


The Dippemess dates back to a medieval market called the Maamess. Potters from the Westerwald, Kannebakerland and Urberach also sold their products at the market, especially ceramic bowls and containers.

These are called "Dippe" in the local dialect and over time the name changed to the Dippemess.

Opening hours:
  • Monday closed (except Easter Monday)
  • Tuesday to Thursday 3 p.m. to 11 p.m
  • Friday to Saturday 2 p.m. to midnight
  • Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m
  • Every Tuesday between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., children up to the age of 12 receive two tickets for the price of one at all participating children's rides.
  • Parking is not available at the site organisers suggest using public transport to arrive by train or bus. 
  • Frankfurt Hbf is about 20 mins by U-Bhan
freDOlino Dortmund

The Dortmund spring fair opens between 1st Apr - 16th Apr.


You can find the fairground at the Fredenbaum park . Parking is available directly at the Poco fairground car park – Eisenhüttenweg 11.
  • Entry to the fairground costs €1
  • Family days with 50% discount on all carousels are on Wednesday, April 5th and Wednesday, April 12th, 2023

  • Tuesday: 2pm - 10pm
  • Wednesday: 2pm - 11pm
  • Thursday:2pm- 10pm
    Friday: 12pm - 11pm
  • Saturday: 12pm - 11pm

Nuremberg

Part fair and part beer fest. The Nuremberg spring fair is a Bavarian classic. The fair is open from the 8th -23rd Apr. 

This is a large event across a massive site. Which includes Beer tents and pop up restaurants. 

Reservations for the tents and restaurants are recommended.
You will find the fair at the Kongresshalle.


Parking spaces (for a fee) can be found on Grosse Strasse, around the Kongresshalle, on Bayernstrasse, at the Meistersingerhalle car park and on Schultheissallee.

  • Daily 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m
  • Sundays and holidays 1:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m
  • Friday, Saturday and before public holidays 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m
Dusseldorf
The fair year in Düsseldorf starts on April 8th with the Easter fair at Staufenplatz. Numerous attractions are vying for your attention, countless food stalls drive the calorie ticker up. There will be fireworks on Friday evening.

You can park directly on the grounds of the Easter fair. On Ernst-Poensgen-Allee you can usually park right next to the road.

The best way to get there by public transport is to use the Staufenplatz underground station. The U73 and U83 run from here, as does the 709 tram.
