Guided Bike Tour as Part of the "Monumenta"

A special tour (German language) has been arranged by the Stadt Museum for this week. On Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m., the City Museum invites you to a bike excursion to the Senne. The meeting point is the Natural History Museum in Schloss Neuhaus

The destination of the cycle tour, led by Dirk Tornede from the NABU Nature Information Center Senne, is the former village of Haustenbeck, which was founded in 1659 by the Lippe count house in the middle of the lonely Senne and was dissolved in 1939 to expand the military training area under Nazi rule.

As one of three stations, the Stadtmuseum Paderborn shows the special exhibition "Monumenta - Places of Remembrance between the Weser and Lippe". 

The cooperation project of the Stadtmuseum Paderborn, the Kreismuseum Wewelsburg and the Forum Jacob Pins in Höxter is dedicated to the 24 places, landscapes and events that Ferdinand von Fürstenberg, the learned Prince-Bishop of Paderborn and Münster, set a literary monument to in his book "Monumenta Paderbornensia". – and asks about their significance for the present.
