As reported by PaderSprinter, passengers can now use PayPal to pay for their bus tickets, which they buy online via the timetable app. 

In addition to SEPA direct debit and credit card payment, this results in another payment method in the transport company's app. “Our customers have specifically expressed their desire for PayPal as an additional payment method, and our goal is to make bus travel as convenient as possible for passengers.

Lunapark and the Lunamarkt Paderborn May 2022

Paderborn Carnival is on this Weekend!

The 18th carnival parade of the carnival association "Hasi-Palau-Paderborn" will lead through the city center of Paderborn on Saturday, April 23rd 2022. 

The procession route has changed compared to the previous year. In addition, due to the parade, there are bans on stopping and changes to the parking and access regulations in the affected streets.

New Arrangements to Support Service Family Accommodation - FDIS (UK)

From 11 April, the National Service Centre (NSC) started to receive and log routine maintenance calls. As expected, Pinnacle received a huge volume of calls (2270) and had extra teams in place to receive these.

However, there was a technical issue on the morning of the 11th that affected a number of call centres throughout the UK beyond Pinnacle and Defence and this, along with the large volumes of calls, contributed to some families experiencing long wait times. 

Free Courses for Jobs' Campaign Expansion- UK

The Government's 'Free Courses for Jobs' campaign has expanded to help even more adults take a free level 3 qualification (equivalent to A levels) to help them access new job opportunities or increase their wages. 

National Insurance Relief for Businesses hiring Veterans (UK)

Businesses hiring military veterans can now save their firms thousands of pounds in employee National Insurance contributions, thanks to a scheme launched by the government's Office of Veterans' Affairs. 

From 6 April 2022, employers will not have to pay National Insurance contributions for veterans in their first year of civilian employment after leaving the armed forces. 

Businesses will also be able to claim this relief retrospectively for any qualifying employees who joined their company in the last 12 months. Further information can be found on the Government website here.

Paderborn This Saturday the 11 Bus Will Divert for the Easter Run

As reported by the PaderSprinter, the 74th Paderborn Easter Run also influences the routes of the PaderSprinter. On Holy Saturday, April 16, there will therefore be some changes to the route on lines 2, 5, 6, 11, 28, 58 and 68.

BFBS Commemorates 40 Years Since the Falklands Conflict

On 2nd April 1982, the Falklands conflict began, and now, 40 years later BFBS will spend the next 74 days commemorating the event.

Through a dedicated Falklands 40 hub page on its website Forces.net, BFBS will be sharing a memorial wall – highlighting lives lost – as well as videos, stories, and podcasts to mark 40 years since the conflict.

Implementation of the Settlement Fee Waiver

Following the joint announcement on 23 Feb by the Defence Secretary and the Home Secretary that the fee for Settlement (ILR/ILE) would be waived for eligible non-UK Service Personnel (SP) on discharge, the fee regulations have now been laid in Parliament and the waiver will come into effect on 6 April 2022.

To be eligible, non-UK SP applying on or after 6 Apr, must meet existing Home Office criteria and:

• Have served for six years or more, or
• Discharged with an illness or injury attributable to service – irrespective of length of service, or are
• A veteran currently living in the UK who has not regularised their immigration status following six years or more of service or were discharged with an illness or injury attributable to service.

A Defence Instruction or Notice (DIN) will follow.

Roadworks in Paderborn

For the new building of the savings bank in Riemekestraße, the Paderborn city drainage company (STEB) will create a new sewer connection from Wednesday, April 6th. 

For this reason, Riemekestraße at number 4/corner of Fürstenbergstraße will be completely closed until probably Friday, April 22nd.
