SFA Window Safety Restrictors (UK)

The safety of families living in Service Family Accommodation (SFA) and Substitute Service Families Accommodation (SSFA) is a top priority. With warmer weather meaning more windows will be open in homes, we would like to remind families to check that all window safety catches/restrictors are working correctly.

If restrictors are not working or windows can be opened more than 100mm when restrictors are engaged, then please report the fault to the National Service Centre immediately on 0800 031 8628 to ensure a repair is carried out. If you live in SSFA, please contact Mears on 0800 032 4547.

Please note that window restrictors must not be disengaged for any reason where children or vulnerable members of your household are at risk from falling.

Bus Services for Central Paderborn Post Tornado

Clean up and repair teams have worked hard to clear the storm damage. Busses are running again to some of the worst affected area. Some  central Paderborn areas will remain closed until the end of this week.

With the start of operations on Tuesday, May 24th, both the Dören-Park and the area around Senefelder Straße can be served regularly again.

The "Westerntor" stop has been open for regular service since Monday, May 23rd. Riemekestraße has also been reopened, so that the “Friedrich-Ebert-Straße” and “Westfriedhof” stops there can once again be used as normal.

Paderborn Tornado - Press Conference from the Mayor

A tornado crossed Paderborn on Friday evening and left a trail of devastation. From the south-west to the north-east it crossed the city at a width of about 300 metres. Trees were uprooted, roofs torn off, vehicles overturned. 43 people were injured, 13 of them seriously. A seriously injured person was transferred to a special clinic in Bielefeld. 

More than 400 emergency services carried out over 200 operations. NRW Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst and NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul have announced that they will be there in the afternoon.

Personnel serving overseas (and dependents) are eligible to continue claiming Universal Creit as if they are in the UK. The DWP website is due to be updated soon to reflect this.
