Paderborn Carnival is on this Weekend!

The 18th carnival parade of the carnival association "Hasi-Palau-Paderborn" will lead through the city center of Paderborn on Saturday, April 23rd 2022.

The procession route has changed compared to the previous year. In addition, due to the parade, there are bans on stopping and changes to the parking and access regulations in the affected streets.

This year, the parade will start at 2.14 p.m. from Maspernplatz-Ost via
Hathumarstraße - Mühlenstraße - Ükernplatz - Heiersstraße - An der Alten Synagoge - Kasseler Straße - Kamp - Rathausplatz - Marienplatz - Am Abdinghof - Marktplatz - Domplatz - Am Bogen and back via An der Old Synagogue – Heiersstraße – Ükernplatz – Mühlenstraße ¬ – Hathumarstraße to Maspernplatz-Ost.

The entire parade route will be completely closed from 1.30 p.m. on the Saturday of the parade.

In some cases, this can also be the case a little earlier, since the barriers cannot be set up everywhere at the same time. Side streets may also be affected by the closures.

Residents in the area of the central city center are therefore asked either not to use their car between 1:30 p.m. and the time when the streets are released, or to park it outside the closed area.

The train is expected to end around 6 p.m. However, the final release of the respective road sections can only take place when the road cleaning, which is carried out by the ASP, has been completed.

No motor vehicles are allowed to park along the parade route, as these areas are available for spectators and vehicles should not be damaged. Drivers are asked to park their vehicles in other areas by 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Appropriate notices of the no-parking regulations have already been posted on site. The holders of a resident parking permit may park on Maspernplatz-West in front of the Paderhalle on this day.

The parking areas at the western wall in the section between Marienstraße and Kisau are closed from 8 a.m. on Saturday. Maspernplatz-Ost will already be closed on Thursday, April 21, as the tent and stands for two events are being set up here and the train participants will be lined up on the following Saturday.

The final event will also take place on Maspernplatz-Ost, which will remain closed until Sunday, April 24th.

The multi-storey car park of the St. Vincenz Hospital can be reached via Kasseler Tor and Kasseler Straße. The entrances and exits in the area of the roundabout (Kamp/Kasseler Str.) remain open. The access to and exit from the Volksbank car park will be closed during the move. This also applies to the Cathedral Square and the exit from the Andia zone.

The Aspethera Hotel can be reached via Giersstrasse and Laurentiusgasse.

The weekly market will take place as usual this year. Visitors to the weekly market and other users of the parking areas on the Domplatz and on the small Domplatz are advised that these parking areas will be closed between 1 p.m. and probably 7 p.m.

The regular buses will not drive in the pedestrian zone all day this Saturday.
