New Armed Forces Covenant Fund Programme

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust launches first new Armed Forces Covenant Fund programme for 2024/25 - Serving Families: On the Move.

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (the Trust) has launched the first Covenant Fund programme under its exciting three-year Funding Framework.

Serving Families: On the Move is now open for applications for grants of up £120,000 for two-to-three-year projects that will improve the quality of life for Service families impacted by relocation as a direct result of Service life.

The Trust ran a public consultation in 2023, which identified that one of the key areas to focus on was ‘Reducing stress and challenges for Armed Forces families. This family focused programme will address this aim by strengthening connections with local communities, leading to better support for those facing relocation as a direct result of Service. The consultation findings are available to read on The Trust website.

What is the Serving Families: On the Move programme all about?

Serving Families: On the Move will support projects which achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

* Improved access to localised information to support Service families in new and unfamiliar locations.

* Enhanced access to activities to improve the wellbeing of Service families.

* Collaboration with families to develop effective support networks.

Who can apply?

The Trust is inviting applications from UK-based registered charities, both Armed Forces charities or those keen to collaborate with Armed Forces charities, who have been registered for at least three years at the time of application.

What type of projects are The Trust looking to support?

With a focus on prevention and early intervention, projects should be aimed at assisting serving families in accessing services during relocation.

If you apply for a grant, you will need to show that project will help families integrate into new communities to develop networks and friendships.

The programme is now open for applications and the first closing date is 12 noon on 18 September 2024. If you’re not yet ready to apply, there will be a later closing date in early 2025.

Anna Wright, Chief Executive at the Trust said: “We are absolutely delighted to be releasing the first in a series of new Covenant Fund programmes. Following the insights we received from our public consultation last year, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure your feedback and experiences have shaped every aspect of these new programmes, to have a positive impact on the lives of our Armed Forces community.”
