What's On This Weekend

British Weekend & Highland Games - Bad Lippspringe 16th - 17th Aug 

The event starts at 1100 on both days and runs until 21.30 on Saturday and 1800 on Sunday. 

Anyone who enjoys authentic live music, traditional vintage cars, impressive Highland games, an entertaining pub quiz, and British delicacies will be in good hands at the second British Weekend on August 16th and 17th at the Bad Lippspringe Garden Show.

Admission is free for annual pass holders and children up to and including 17 years of age. Everyone else pays €9.50 for a day ticket. tickets can be purchased online allowing you to avoid ques at the main gates. 




Landpartie - Schloss Neuhaus 14th -17th August

More than 120 exhibitors will present exclusive items for home, garden, leisure, art, culture, and lifestyle. The event will be accompanied by a diverse supporting program and regional culinary specialties.

Hermannsdenkmal 150th Birthday Party - 16th Aug 

A large family festival is taking place at the Denkmal to celebrate 150 years of the "Big man". 

Lots of activities for the whole family, plus music into the evening at the forest stage.  

A fairy tail forest is set up for the kids, plus a giant chalk wall. For the more adventurous you will have a chance to abseil down the monument. (Expect long ques for this.) Walk through the medieval fayre  and enjoy some food. 


Please note parking at the Denkmal will be closed you will need to park in Detmold and use the special busses from the train station to visit the festival. 

Note on getting to the event site at the Hermann Monument: Please use public transport. Take a regular bus to the train station.

From there, the special bus service, line 792 (bus stop 9), will take you directly to the event site at Hermann Monument. 

This way, you can avoid traffic congestion, protect the environment, and enjoy a relaxed journey. Public transport is the sustainable and convenient choice.




Paderborn Wine Village - Schloss Neuhaus 22nd - 24th August

Wineries from all over Germany showcase their fine wines. Visitors can sample and learn about their wines, as well as philosophize and discuss the wines. 

Celebrate the sparkling, full-bodied, sparkling, precious, and delicious wines from Germany.

Gamescon Cologne - 20th Aug

Schweinmarkt  Brackwede in Bielefeld 22nd -24th Aug 

The heart of the district will once again be transformed into a lively festival ground – the traditional pig market will open its doors for the 583rd time! Fun fair, food stalls a roller skating ring and more. 




Jell-o Ravensberger Park Bielefeld  24th Aug 


One-day open-air children's and family  in the expansive Ravensberger Park. Artists from near and far delight audiences with acrobatics, walk-through acts, live music, and theatre performances.
