Job vacancy - Head of Out of Hours at HUC, East England

An opportunity has arisen to join HUC’s management team, as the Head of Out of Hours.

We are looking for a highly driven individual to work with our Associate Director For Delivery And Performance to ensure the delivery of HUC’s East Of England strategic and operational objectives with responsibility for the delivery, performance and safety of all Out of Hours services, optimising patient care, ensuring efficient use of resources and promoting a culture that is progressive, inclusive and driven by HUC’s core set of values.

The position is permanent and 37.5 hours per week working across all sites within East of England.

Education and Qualification:

Experience is much more important that qualifications for this role. A strong people manager, you will possibly be a graduate, a clinician, ex forces or maybe you have a background in logistics?

Job Summary:

• Be responsible for day-to-day F2F management of Out of Hours services, ensuring the best possible out of hours care is offered to residents across our contract areas in the East of England

• To identify operational and commercial priorities and objectives in the development and implementation of company strategies, actively contributing to and leading the development and delivery of HUC’s strategic objectives and local business plans

• Responsible for the preparation of outline and full business cases and management of the associated processes

• Responsible for the embedding of shared leadership within all operational areas to support a patient focused, employee-led workforce.

• To contribute to bid development and tendering as well as the transition and mobilisation of new HUC contracts.

Skills required:

• Excellent understanding of operational policies and procedures

• Strong proficiency in IT including MS Excel

• Strong management & leadership skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

• Organised with strong attention to detail
