Paderborn Autumn Libori Festival 21st -29th Oct

The Autumn Libori Festival starts on Saturday, October 21st to Sunday and runs until October 29th. You will find the fair on the 400 meter long fair mile on the Liboriberg in the city.

There are again many attractions waiting for you on the fair mile: The “Movie Star I” ferris wheel gives visitors the chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the fair and large parts of Paderborn.

Other rides this year are the “Car Wash” running shop, which offers pure fun for the whole family, the brand-new hair raising “Air Power” swing, the “Crazy Mouse” coaster promises, rushing around at 50 km/h.

All the classic rides “Musik-Express”, “Break-Okay”, “Paderborner Pferdekarussell”  and the bumper cars “Cadillac” will be present.  Younger visitors can put their driving skills to the test on the popular “Fairy Tale Land” ride.

In addition, the children's rides “Timmy's Time Travel” and “Kindertraum” and the “bungee trampoline” make sure the kids are well looked after.

Food and drink is a big part of these festivals . At “Schinderhannes” or one of the many other snack shops you can fortify yourself for an extensive walk through the fair.

You can plan your autumn Libori visit using the official app. The rides and snack bars at the Herbstlibori fair can be found in the “Libori Paderborn” event app. The attractions can be filtered by category and saved using the favorites function. Here are the links:

Herbstlibori dates back to 1627. It is intended to commemorate the return of the relics of Saint Liborius, patron of the city and diocese of Paderborn, which were stolen by Duke Christian of Braunschweig, known as “The Great Christian”.

On October 31st of that year, the relics of the patron saint were ceremoniously returned to the cathedral after a five-year wandering.

In 1622, Christian of Braunschweig attacked the episcopal city during the Thirty Years' War, plundered the cathedral treasury and stole the reliquary.

The fair is open Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Sunday Shopping

In addition, on the last Sunday of the fair, on October 29th, there will be a shopping Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
