In this position, your daily tasks will vary. For example, one day you might search premises, and the next you could conduct interviews with suspects. You will receive top-quality training to help you develop specialised skills in preventing tax fraud and safeguarding public funds.
At its core, this job is about outsmarting criminal groups threatening the UK. You’ll need sharp judgement, resilience under confrontation, and integrity as you exercise far-reaching investigative powers.
Beyond operational tasks, this role encompasses critical desk-based responsibilities where meticulous attention to detail is essential.
You will systematically gather evidence and prepare comprehensive briefings to construct a watertight case capable of withstanding court scrutiny.
Investigators should be proficient in presenting their findings and justifying their investigative choices during cross-examination in court.
You may also be tasked with any area of criminal investigation for which HMRC holds responsibility.
