The city and the canals in Amsterdam are staged by international artists with impressive light shows.
The Light Festival has grown into one of Europe's top events, which provides another reason to visit Amsterdam.
On a specially prepared footpath, the "Illuminade", you can admire light projections on historic buildings, streets and parks and even walk through some light art works.
The Illuminade is free.
There is also a water route, the so-called "Water Colors", where you can take a canal past many works of art. Tickets can be purchased on site from many shipping companies or, due to the rush, booked with them in advance.
