Bielefeld's old town transforms into one of Northern Germany's largest and most traditional wine festivals. In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors enjoy white wine, sparkling wine, young Federweißer, or red wine.
Many of the wine stands offer non-alcoholic alternatives.

Rietberg Gartenschau Drone Show - Sat 6th

600 drones and a a mini festival take place in the North section of the Gartenschau in Rietberg on Saturday evening. Starting at 5pm. Entry ticket for the park is required.
The spectacle will be complemented by firework effects specially designed for the show.
Paderborn Fire Service Open Day - Sun Sep 7th
A family day from the fire brigade, rescue and civil protection teams. lots of hands on activities there will be demonstrations plus a concert from the marching band. Food and drink stands will be selling refreshments.

Cheatday Street Food Festival Bad Lippspringe 5th - 7th Sep
All the usual street food goodness can be found in the Arminius Park in Bad Lippspringe. the source of the Lippe river. The Cheat Day will be located next to the spring. The event starts at 17:00 on Friday. Then opens at 12:00 on Sat and Sun.
Warsteiner International Balloon Festival 5th - 13th Sep
A 50 min drive from Sennelager this festival has hot air Balloons, helicopter rides, fireworks and a funfair. This massive event draws large crowds and though the Balloon and helicopter rides are not cheap they are a special event.
Blasheimer Markt - Lübbecke 4th - 7th Sep
The Blasheim Market is a traditional folk festival in the Blasheim district Lübbecke. Drive time is just under 1hr 10mins. Expect a funfair, food, beer tents, music and a special farm yard petting zoo.

Onions & Apples
Travel a bit further to enjoy the onion Fair in Witten and the Apple Fair in Essen-Werden these two events are past Dortmund. Witten is a 1hr 30 mins drive. Essen - Werden is just under 2 hrs. These events date back 600 years. Both are much loved events with fairgrounds, markets and shows.
The onion fair includes marching bands (more details here). A highlight of the Apple fair is the sale of traditional apple cakes. These sweet treats embody the fair.
The Ludgerus Festival is celebrated parallel to the Apple Fair. This religious festival honouring Saint Ludgerus, the founder of Werden Monastery.
H&WF 2025, a special Coffee Social and Cinelink returns
Next week the Health and Wellbeing Fayre (H&WF2025) on Weds in the Normady Bks Gym. Please note parking for the event will be at the Senne Kitchen a short walk from the Gym. The Gym car park will be closed on the day.
Coffee social will be a special Tuesday event held at St Bonniface church on camp 1000 - 1200 as normal.
Cinelink is back after the summer break a whole host of new movies and from the 28th Sep NAAFI will be running a Sunday matinee after the refurb.
